How can I prolong my loan?
You can prolong your loan in the application Reader's Account ONLY in online catalogue. After logging, click on the green arrow marked next to the chosen document.
You will be allowed to prolong the document only if the document has not been reserved by another user, and if you have the right to do so (maximum of two renewals according to the reader category - see in the above stated chart).
ATTENTION! The public users are not entitled to prolong the documents.
It is not possible to prolong the loan either by e-mail or phone; and neither the librarian at the desk will do it for you.

How can I reserve a book?
You can reserve a book when you open the application Reader's Account ONLY in online catalogue of the UL. After logging, search your required document and open its record. It is possible to reserve a book just in case all the copies are borrowed. Next click on the Reservation button. The validity of reservation lasts 45 days. As soon as the previous reader returns the document, you will be informed about this fact by mail and the book will be held for you for 7 days. If you want to cancel the reservation, you must login into Reader's Account again and click on the red cross icon.

Can I return a borrowed document by post or can somebody else return it instead of me?
The borrowed books can be returned any way yet the reader takes the risk. The books will be cancelled from the reader’s account on the day of return.
You can return books when the library is closed, just drop them in the book drop, marked 'bibliobox', located in front of the library, or mail them to us via Czech Post.

The book that I want to borrow is marked with the letter V in the online catalogue. Moreover, there is a very long loan period. How can I get it?
Such a book has been purchased for a certain lecturer by the financial means outside the library budget. The library has registered the document into the online catalogue but the library does not have the disposal of this kind of document.

The book that I want to borrow is in the library branch in the town of Litomyšl. What steps shall I take to get the document?
Ask for the book downstairs at the circulation desk. The book will be requested from Litomyšl and within 1 week delivered to Pardubice. You will receive the information about the prepared document by e-mail.
